The Opportunity

A Regional Queensland Council is seeking a highly experienced Principal Coordinator Infrastructure Delivery to provide strategic and operational leadership across its road construction, maintenance and grading programs.

Reporting to the Manager Infrastructure Delivery, this is a critical leadership position responsible for coordinating complex, multidisciplinary works programs while ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, within budget and to the required quality standards.

About the Role

You will provide high-level coordination and leadership across Council's construction, road maintenance and grading programs, ensuring works align with operational priorities, budgets and asset management requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading annual road maintenance, construction and grading programs
• Planning and prioritising resources, schedules and operational activities
• Providing leadership across multidisciplinary construction and maintenance teams
• Managing complex civil works programs across safety, quality, cost and delivery
• Overseeing project planning, estimating, scheduling, procurement and contract management
• Monitoring project performance against budgets, programs and quality requirements
• Providing authoritative technical advice on construction standards, maintenance programs and operational issues
• Overseeing QA, WHS, environmental and traffic management requirements
• Managing contractors, consultants, suppliers and other external stakeholders
• Driving continuous improvement across construction and grading operations
• Developing workforce capability through coaching, training and succession planning
• Preparing high-level reports and advising management on performance, risks and priorities

About You

You are a highly experienced civil construction leader who can combine strong technical knowledge with the ability to lead people, establish clear expectations and deliver complex operational programs.

You will bring:

• Minimum 15 years' experience in civil construction and maintenance/grading operations
• Significant experience leading multidisciplinary operational teams
• Extensive construction and grading project management experience
• Strong capability across planning, estimating, scheduling, contract management and quality assurance
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams, influence outcomes and drive accountability
• High-level analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capability
• Strong understanding of WHS, environmental and quality management requirements
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and report-writing skills
• Experience using Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project and relevant civil works, asset or project management systems
• Current Queensland C Class manual Driver Licence
• Current Queensland General Safety Induction White or Blue Card

Highly regarded:

• Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering
• Project Management qualifications
