Workforce Extensions Geelong is seeking an experienced Level 1 IT Support Technician for a full-time opportunity with a large and established organisation based in Colac.

\n

Working as part of the site's IT function, you will provide responsive day-to-day technical support across a busy operational environment. You'll support users across the business while also gaining exposure to the technology and systems that support a large-scale production facility.

\n

This is an on-site position based in Colac and would suit someone who enjoys being hands-on, solving problems and interacting directly with users rather than working exclusively through a remote helpdesk environment.

About the Role \n

As the Level 1 IT Support Technician, you will be one of the first points of contact for IT incidents and service requests across the site.

\n

Your responsibilities will include:

\n

\n
• Providing day-to-day Level 1 technical support to end users
\n
• Supporting desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers and peripherals
\n
• Providing support for hardware used within the production environment
\n
• Diagnosing and resolving common hardware, software and operating system issues
\n
• User account administration, including password resets, user provisioning and access management
\n
• Supporting Microsoft 365, ERP and other business applications
\n
• Logging, categorising, prioritising and documenting incidents and service requests
\n
• Communicating with users throughout the troubleshooting and resolution process
\n
• Providing guidance to users on the effective use of systems and technology
\n
• Escalating more complex technical issues to the appropriate internal resources
\n
• Working within established IT security, access control and change management procedures
\n

About You \n

We're looking for someone who already has a solid foundation in IT support and is ready to continue developing their technical capability within a larger operational environment.

\n

To be considered, you will ideally have:

\n

\n
• Minimum 2 years' experience in an IT support, helpdesk, service desk or similar technical position
\n
• A tertiary qualification in Information Technology or a related discipline, or currently be working towards one
\n
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Windows-based environments
\n
• Practical hardware and software troubleshooting experience
\n
• Experience supporting end users and resolving technical issues
\n
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
\n
• The confidence to communicate with people across different areas and levels of a business
\n
• Strong organisation, prioritisation and time-management skills
\n
• The ability to remain calm and methodical when dealing with technical issues
\n
• The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within an IT team
\n
• A current driver's licence
\n

Previous exposure to manufacturing, production, warehousing, operational technology or other site-based environments would be highly regarded but is not essential.

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Colac, Victoria.

\n

It is not a remote or work-from-home position, so applicants should carefully consider their ability to work from the Colac site on an ongoing basis before applying.
