About the role

\n

As the SQI Coordinator, you will play a vital role in shaping excellence in care across the Children & Family Services: (Paediatric Inpatient Unit (HW3), Early Parenting Centre and other Paediatric Clinics and other home-based programs)

\n

You'll be working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and reporting to the Deputy Director of Patient Safety, while partnering with clinical leaders and managers within the Women's, Children's & Families Directorate to embed robust governance, support incident response, engage consumers, and drive improvement projects that make care safer and more person-centred.

\n

The Safety,Quality and Improvement (SQI)Unit'srole at Barwon Healthis to support and guide staffto provide the bestpossible care for our consumersand foster aculture of excellence. Unit responsibilities include:

  • Clinical Governance andRisk Management
  • \n
  • Consumer Experience and Partnering with Consumer Advisors
  • \n
  • Monitoring and Implementing Healthcare and Clinical care Standards
  • \n
  • Clinical Auditing
  • \n

\n

Key Responsibilities

\n

    \n
  • Lead development and implementation of Safety, Quality & Improvement plans
  • \n
  • Coordinate clinical governance activities and facilitate performance reporting
  • \n
  • Support incident and clinical risk management, including leading reviews and RiskMan analysis
  • \n
  • Collaborate with teams on Partnering with Consumers and complaint resolution initiatives
  • \n
  • Help prepare for accreditation and meet NSQHS Standards
  • \n
  • Facilitate quality improvement projects that respond to data, feedback, and emerging risks
  • \n

What we're looking for

\n

    \n
  • A qualification in a healthcare profession and at least 2 years of clinical experience
  • \n
  • Strong leadership, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • \n
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities
  • \n
  • Working knowledge of incident management systems such as RiskMan
  • \n
  • Experience in quality and safety systems or project coordination
  • \n
  • Postgraduate qualifications in midwifery (highly regarded)
  • \n
  • Familiarity with clinical governance and consumer partnership standards
  • \n
