Job description

Our Client School (Secondary, Special Education) is seeking an exprrienced
Teaching Assistant to join their team in Blacktown, NSW.

✨✨Blacktown Area, Western Sydney
✨✨Term 4, 2026 Start (12th October 2026)
✨✨5 Days Per Week | Term-Time Only
✨✨Permanent Position

An excellent opportunity is available for an experienced Teaching Assistant to join a specialist secondary education setting supporting young people who require additional support to successfully engage with their learning.
This is a permanent, five-day-per-week position working during school terms only, commencing Term 4, 2026.

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide individual and small-group assistance, helping students build confidence, remain engaged in their education and achieve positive learning outcomes.

✨ The Role

  • Provide classroom and individual learning support
  • Work closely with students with a range of additional learning needs
  • Support students with engagement, behaviour and participation in learning
  • Assist teachers with the delivery of differentiated learning activities
  • Help create a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Build strong and respectful relationships with young people
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and the wider student support team
  • Permanent role, five days per week during school terms

✨About You

  • Previous experience working with young people with additional or complex learning needs is essential
  • Cert 3 or Cert 4 in Education Support is highly desirable
  • Experience within a school, youth, disability or specialist education environment highly regarded
  • Patient, resilient and able to build rapport with young peopleConfident supporting students who may have experienced challenges within mainstream education
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Genuine passion for helping young people achieve positive outcomes
  • Current Working With Children Check and relevant eligibility to work within a NSW school environment
