As part of the Community Safety and Support Services team, you will work with internal teams and external stakeholders to develop practical initiatives that respond to the City's current and future community support service needs. You will support community groups, service organisations and individuals to build capacity, strengthen resilience and raise awareness through targeted training, development of resources, programs and events.

\n

This role focuses on the community support services sector, and includes the portfolios of homelessness, family and domestic violence, social isolation, protective behaviours, mental health, and alcohol and other drugs.

\n

You are enthusiastic, self-motivated and committed to strengthening community resilience. You bring well-developed written and verbal communication skills and can work both autonomously and as part of a team. Your strong administration, research and planning skills will support community-based initiatives, and you are confident preparing funding submissions, measuring and communicating outcomes, writing reports, and managing community-focused projects and events.

To be considered for this role, you must address the following essential selection criteria as part of your online application:

• Degree in Community Development, Social Science or related field, or lesser formal qualifications with substantial years of relevant experience
\n
• Sound knowledge of community development principles, theory and practice
\n
• Sound knowledge of issues related to vulnerable populations with a particular focus on homelessness, and family and domestic violence
\n
• Extensive knowledge, experience with and understanding of the Community Support Services sector
\n
• Experience in planning and facilitation of community events, programs and workshops
\n
• Sound experienceidentifying,engagingand building capacity of community groups, organisations and individuals
\n
• Current 'C' class driver's licence and Western Australia Working with Children Check
\n

\n

We are offering a gross annual salary of $94,367 per annum and:

\n

\n
• 12% superannuation with the option to co-contribute up to a further 5% - that's a total of 22%
\n
• A variety of health and wellbeing programs including a physical health reimbursement subsidy payment of up to $200 per annum, free flu vaccinations, free skin cancer checks, mental health programs and Employee Assistance Provider (EAP) services

• Rostered days off and two additional paid days of absence per annum
\n
