Dental Receptionist and Assitant

Aurora Epping Dental Clinic is seeking a dedicated and professional Dental Receptionist and Assistant to join our team on a full-time basis in Wollert, VIC 3750. This is a pivotal role that bridges our front-of-house and clinical operations, ensuring our patients receive exceptional service from the moment they arrive. You will be the first point of contact for our patients and will play a crucial role in maintaining the smooth operation of our clinic whilst supporting both administrative and clinical functions. This position is essential to our commitment to delivering high-quality dental care in a welcoming and professional environment.

Key responsibilities

• Greeting patients with a warm and professional manner, managing check-ins and maintaining accurate patient records
• Scheduling and confirming appointments, ensuring optimal clinic flow and minimising patient wait times
• Managing patient communications via telephone and email, responding to enquiries and providing information about services and treatments
• Processing patient payments and handling billing enquiries, maintaining confidentiality of financial information
• Preparing treatment rooms and sterilising dental instruments according to infection control protocols and Australian dental standards
• Assisting dentists and dental hygienists during patient treatments by passing instruments, suctioning and providing chairside support
• Taking and processing intraoral and extraoral dental photographs when required
• Maintaining comprehensive and accurate patient records, ensuring all clinical notes and treatment details are properly documented
• Ordering and managing clinic supplies and materials, maintaining adequate stock levels
• Ensuring the reception area and clinical spaces are clean, organised and compliant with health and safety standards
• Supporting the implementation of infection control procedures and maintaining compliance with relevant regulatory requirements

What we're looking for

• Relevant qualifications in dental reception and/or dental assistance, or equivalent practical experience in a dental environment
• A current or recently held certification in first aid and CPR
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with patients and team members
• Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail, particularly when managing multiple appointments and patient information
• Proficiency with dental practice management software and general computer skills
• Reliable, punctual and committed to maintaining high standards of professionalism and patient care
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative dental team
• Knowledge of infection control protocols and health and safety requirements in dental practice
• Willingness to undertake ongoing professional development and training
• Preferred experience in a busy dental practice with exposure to a variety of treatments and patient demographics

Key Information

• Monday to Saturday Availability is a requirement. Saturdays are half days.
• Must be willing to work between Wollert and Whittlesea Clinics
• Must be growth oriented to take on more roles and grow with the company.
• Must be prepared for 2-3 Weeks of training.
