The role

As a Project Support Officer, you will be the go-to support for a busy project team, helping keep important work moving across planning, research, reporting, implementation and administration. This role suits someone who thrives on variety, can find things out, solve problems as they arise and keep project plans, records, briefs and updates on track.

Working closely with the project team, you will coordinate meetings and papers, communicate progress and implementation issues, and build productive relationships across teams. It is a varied role for someone who is organised, responsive and comfortable shifting between research, coordination and practical support to help projects deliver agreed outcomes for NSW communities.

This role will take you places – with opportunities to travel a few times each year, spend up to four days away from home, and contribute directly to projects that support local communities. What you will bring to the role

• Practical project and operational support experience, with the ability to monitor plans, milestones, risks, deliverables and actions so work stays on track.
• Strong organisation and attention to detail when maintaining project records, updating documentation and policy information, and supporting compliance with project frameworks and methodologies.
• Experience undertaking basic research and analysis, gathering relevant information and preparing clear, concise briefs or updates to support planning and decision-making.
• A steady and responsive approach to managing competing priorities, helping projects meet agreed time, cost and quality expectations in a busy environment.
• Clear communication skills to keep stakeholders informed, provide updates, resolve issues where appropriate and raise implementation risks early.
• Confidence coordinating meetings, preparing agendas, minutes and papers, and assisting project teams with day-to-day tasks and implementation activities.
• Willingness and ability to travel a few times per year, including spending up to four days away from home to support project delivery and on-the-ground implementation activities.
