PhysioSpec is a private physiotherapy clinic in Tamworth dedicated to pelvic and women’s health.

As the clinic continues to grow, I’m looking for one or two physiotherapists who would like to build their career in this area while helping improve access to specialised pelvic health physiotherapy for women living in regional NSW.

This role could suit an experienced pelvic health physiotherapist looking for greater autonomy, or a physiotherapist who already has training and experience in pelvic health and is looking for the right environment to continue developing their skills.

You don’t need to know everything.

You do need to be a safe, capable physiotherapist who can work independently, genuinely enjoys this area of practice and wants to continue learning.

At PhysioSpec, good private practice isn't about seeing as many clients as possible. Initial consultations are 60 minutes and follow-up consultations are 45 minutes, allowing time for thoughtful assessment, treatment, education and clinical reasoning.

You'll have direct access to mentoring and case discussion with me, Emma Shaw, an APA Titled Continence and Women’s Health Physiotherapist with extensive postgraduate training in pelvic health.

Protected paid mentoring time is included, along with a $1,500 annual professional development allowance to support your continued clinical development.

• Autonomy without being left unsupported

There will be days when you work independently in the clinic, so you need to feel confident managing your own caseload and making clinical decisions. At the same time, clinical support and case discussion will remain available when you need them.

• Flexibility around your working week

The position can be full-time or part-time, with flexibility to discuss how your working week is structured. PhysioSpec operates on weekdays, with no weekend work.

• An opportunity to grow with the clinic

You'll be joining PhysioSpec at an important stage of its growth. As the clinic develops, there will be opportunities to contribute ideas, develop areas of clinical interest and have a meaningful role in how pelvic health services at PhysioSpec evolve.

• The clinical work

PhysioSpec provides physiotherapy across a broad range of pelvic and women’s health presentations, including bladder and bowel dysfunction, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic pain, pregnancy and birth preparation, postnatal recovery, sexual dysfunction and abdominal and pelvic rehabilitation.

Clients are predominantly private, with some Medicare and occasional NDIS clients. PhysioSpec does not see workers compensation clients.

You'll work from your own private treatment room with access to real-time ultrasound.

Who would suit this role?

You might already work predominantly in pelvic health, or pelvic health may currently form only part of your caseload.

I'm more interested in your clinical capability, interest and potential than a particular number of years working in women’s health.

You'll need to be comfortable working independently and managing your own caseload while also knowing when to seek support or discuss a clinical presentation.

I'm looking for someone who:

• has a genuine interest in pelvic and women’s health;
• has completed relevant pelvic health coursework, university training or postgraduate education;
• has sufficient physiotherapy experience to practise safely and independently;
• communicates thoughtfully and professionally;
• values high-quality, evidence-informed and individualised care; and
• would enjoy contributing to a small specialist clinic as it grows.

You'll also need current AHPRA registration and the usual professional requirements for physiotherapy practice.
