Lecturer (Animal Science)

• Full-time, Ongoing position at Academic Level B.
• Hawkesbury campus with flexible working arrangements.
• Salary: $125,177 – $147,810 per annum, plus 17% Super and Leave Loading.

Teach animal science, develop research-led curricula and supervise emerging researchers across undergraduate and postgraduate study.
The Opportunity
In this position, you will coordinate, design, deliver and evaluate animal science teaching units, including assessment and constructive feedback. Working with academic colleagues, you will contribute to undergraduate teaching informed by current research and disciplinary practice.

You will undertake research and scholarship, publish in high-quality outlets and prepare competitive internal and external grant proposals. You will also supervise undergraduate, Honours and higher degree research students, helping develop capable emerging researchers.

You will establish productive relationships across the School, Faculty and University, as well as with academic, industry and professional stakeholders. Through these connections, you will support student success and contribute to the strategic direction of the School.

What Success Looks Like:

• Deliver high-quality, research-informed teaching and course development in animal science.
• Design and evaluate teaching units that provide effective assessment and feedback.
• Publish research in high-quality outlets and submit competitive grant proposals.
• Attract, develop and supervise undergraduate and higher degree research students.
• Build collaborations that support student success, teaching and research outcomes
• A doctoral qualification in animal science or a closely related discipline.
• A record of high-quality tertiary teaching supported by student, peer or supervisor feedback.
• Demonstrated research or scholarship, including work published or disseminated through high-quality disciplinary outlets.
• Experience supervising research students at Honours and higher degree levels.
• Experience contributing to successful research grant proposals and building relationships with academic, industry and professional stakeholders.
