As our business continues to service a regular customer base, we are seeking a reliable and experienced Cook to join our team on a full-time basis.\n

\nAbout the Role\n
\n
\nThe Cook will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of menu items in accordance with established recipes, menu requirements, quality standards, and food safety procedures. The successful candidate will work as part of the kitchen team to ensure food is prepared efficiently, consistently, and to a high standard during busy service periods.\n
\n
\nKey Responsibilities\n
\n
\nPrepare, season, and cook a variety of meals and dishes in accordance with established recipes and menu requirements.\n
\nPrepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, cutting, chopping, slicing, portioning, and marinating.\n
\nFollow recipes and established preparation methods to maintain consistency in taste, quality, and presentation.\n
\nOperate commercial kitchen equipment, including grills, ovens, fryers, stovetops, and other cooking appliances, safely and efficiently.\n
\nMonitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure food is cooked correctly and in accordance with food safety requirements.\n
\nPrepare and plate meals according to menu specifications and service requirements.\n
\nCheck the quality and freshness of ingredients before use and appropriately store unused ingredients.\n
\nMaintain appropriate food storage practices, including the use of temperature-controlled facilities.\n
\nAssist with the preparation of sauces, dressings, marinades, salads, sides, and other menu components.\n
\nMaintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen work areas, cooking equipment, utensils, and storage areas.\n
\nFollow food safety, hygiene, health, and workplace safety procedures at all times.\n
\nAssist with receiving, checking, unpacking, and storing food and kitchen supplies.\n
\nMonitor ingredient and stock levels and advise management when supplies need replenishment.\n
\nMinimise food wastage by following appropriate preparation, storage, and portioning procedures.\n
\nWork cooperatively with other kitchen staff to ensure food is prepared and served efficiently during busy periods.\n

\nSkills and Experience\n
\n
\nRelevant qualification in Commercial Cookery, such as Certificate III or IV, or at least 3 years of relevant experience as a Cook.\n
\nPrevious experience working as a Cook in a commercial kitchen environment.\n
\nSound knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety requirements.\n
\nAbility to prepare and cook a variety of dishes consistently and efficiently.\n
\nAbility to work effectively under pressure in a busy café environment.\n
\nGood communication and teamwork skills.\n
\nReliable, punctual, and well organised.\n
\nAbility to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.\n
\n

\nSalary\n
\n
\n$77,500 – $80,000 per annum + superannuation, depending on experience and skills.
