Gambaro Hospitality Group is seeking two enthusiastic Café & Retail Assistants to join the team at Mamma G's Deli & Café in Coolangatta. These are casual positions offering flexibility and the opportunity to be part of a vibrant hospitality environment. You'll be working in our busy café and retail space, where you'll contribute to delivering excellent customer service and supporting the smooth operation of our kitchen and retail areas. This role is perfect for those looking for casual work that fits around other commitments whilst being part of a welcoming, fast-paced establishment.
Key responsibilities \n
Prepare and assemble sandwiches, salads and light meals to order, ensuring quality and consistency
\n
Operate the till and process customer transactions accurately and efficiently
\n
Take customer orders and communicate clearly with kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation
\n
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with health regulations
\n
Stock shelves and displays with retail items and maintain an organised, clean workspace
\n
Greet customers warmly and provide friendly, efficient customer service
\n
Assist with food preparation, plating and presentation for café service
\n
Clean and sanitise work areas, equipment and customer-facing spaces throughout your shift
\n
Support the team during peak service times and assist with general café operations as required
What we're looking for \n
Previous experience in a café, kitchen or retail environment (preferred but not essential)
\n
Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
\n
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
\n
Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
\n
Reliable, punctual and committed to maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene
\n
Basic mathematical skills for handling cash transactions
\n
Flexibility to work casual hours, including potential weekend and public holiday shifts
\n
A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills
\n
