Plant Operator – Parks

Location : Roselands, New South Wales

Join the City of Canterbury Bankstown in maintaining our parks, reserves, and open spaces. This permanent full‑time role supports a diverse community of over 380,000 residents.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain broad acre mowing equipment across parks, reserves, and open space areas.
  • Ensure task completion within designated timeframes, service agreements, rosters and program requirements.
  • Conduct risk and hazard assessments and take corrective action where necessary.
  • Identify and report landscape deficiencies and assist in improvement planning.
  • Collect litter, maintain accurate records and documentation of maintenance activities and equipment servicing in accordance with policies.
  • Provide assistance and advice to management, staff, customers and the community as required.
  • Follow all safety and environmental procedures.

Qualifications

  • Experience in parks and open‑space maintenance.
  • Experience operating tractors and broad acre out‑front mowers.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in greenkeeping, horticulture or a related field.
  • First Aid certificate.
  • Chemical Users Accreditation Certificate or equivalent MR drivers licence.
  • Skid‑steer operator licence.
  • Salary & Benefits

    Salary starts at $71,820 (Grade D, Step 1) plus 12 % superannuation. Salary may be negotiable based on skills and experience.
