Service Technician - Appliance Repairs
Barclays Appliance Service Centre is seeking an experienced Service Technician - Appliance Repairs to join our team in Ballarat, VIC. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in delivering high-quality repair and maintenance services to our valued customers. As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of household and commercial appliances. This role is integral to our commitment to providing reliable, professional service and ensuring customer satisfaction across the Ballarat region.
Key responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair domestic and commercial appliances including washing machines, dryers, dishwashers, refrigerators, ovens, and other major household appliances
- Conduct routine maintenance and servicing of appliances to ensure optimal performance and longevity
- Respond promptly to service calls and complete repairs in a timely and professional manner
- Identify faulty components and source appropriate replacement parts
- Provide clear explanations to customers regarding repairs, maintenance requirements, and preventative measures
- Maintain accurate records of all service calls, repairs completed, and parts used
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies whilst on customer premises
- Maintain a well-organised service vehicle and ensure all tools and equipment are in working order
What we’re looking for
- Recognised qualification or apprenticeship in appliance repair, refrigeration, electrical work, or a related trade would be ideal
- Proven experience working as a service technician or in appliance repair would be ideal
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues
- Proficiency with hand tools and electrical testing equipment
- Knowledge of various appliance brands, models, and repair techniques would be ideal
- Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel to customer locations across the Ballarat region
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate technical information clearly
- Physical capability to lift heavy appliances and work in varied environments
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic
- Desirable: experience with commercial kitchen appliances or HVAC systems
