Finance Manager | Boutique Law | Brisbane CBD

The Role

As Finance Manager, you'll take responsibility for the day-to-day financial operations of the practice, ensuring everything runs accurately, efficiently and compliantly.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including creditors, billing, payments, bank reconciliations and cash flow

  • Manage trust accounting, transfers, PEXA verifications and trust audit requirements

  • Manage payroll, superannuation and insurance payments

  • Monitor and report on WIP, unbilled time, debtors and billing

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting

  • Manage BAS, IAS, FBT, STP and payroll tax requirements

  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial performance reviews

  • Coordinate EOFY processing, compliance and annual reporting

  • Liaise with Directors, external accountants and internal stakeholders

  • Review, document and improve financial processes and procedures

  • Manage relevant insurance renewals and practising certificate requirements

  • Support staff onboarding across relevant financial and practice management systems

About You

You'll be an experienced finance professional with strong knowledge of trust accounting, general ledger bookkeeping, budgeting and financial forecasting.

You’ll ideally have:

  • Experience within a professional services environment

  • Strong knowledge of WIP, billing, debtors and cash flow

  • Experience across payroll and financial compliance

  • Excellent attention to detail and commercial awareness

  • The confidence to work autonomously and communicate with senior stakeholders

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
