Job Description

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Senior Radio and IP Testing and Commissioning Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. Y ou will be primarily responsible for testing, commissioning and integration of radio access network and IP telecommunications systems for rail projects. You will ensure testing and commissioning activities are completed in line with approved documentation, designs are constructible, scopes of work are clearly defined, materials are ordered, and internal and external stakeholders are engaged to support successful telecommunications system delivery. The position is based in Brisbane, Australia.

Accountabilities:

• Test, commission, deploy and optimise RANsystemsto ensure high availability, coverage and performance.
• Integrate,configureand commission BTS equipment across GSM-R networks, including above-ground and tunnelenvironments, and verify associated IP connectivity.
• Conduct drive testing,perform detailed RF analysis, document results, and prepare testing andcommissioning reports.
• Troubleshoot RAN, radio and IP network issues and supportbroader telecommunications integrationand commissioningactivities.

Working as part of the engineering design and delivery team, you will work directly within the telecommunications engineering team and will be primarily responsible for testing and commissioning radio access network and IP telecommunications systems.

Required Skills/ Knowledge:

• At least 10 years’ experience as aradio access network, telecommunications testingor commissioning engineer on large-scale Australianinfrastructure or railprojects.
• An engineering degreesuitable for full membershipwith Engineers Australia andeligibility forRPEQ registration.
• Demonstrated experienceintestingand commissioning GSM-R, GSM,4G, 5Gand IP telecommunications networks.
• Collaborative communication style, with the ability to work effectivelywithin multidisciplinary engineering and delivery teams.
