Experienced Disability Support Worker – NSW


Victorian Home and Community Care – Newcastle NSW


You may work across Supported Independent Living (SIL), Individualised Living Options (ILO), Community access, Day programs, and In-home support. Shifts may include weekdays, evenings, weekends, public holidays and overnight supports.


Key responsibilities


Provide person-centred and trauma-informed support.


Follow support plans, Behaviour Support Plans and risk assessments.


Support participants with personal care and daily living tasks.


Assist with medication in line with training and VHCC procedures.


Support community access, appointments and day programs.


Recognise triggers and use appropriate de-escalation strategies.


Apply authorised restrictive practices correctly and only when required.


Encourage independence, choice and skill development.


Complete clear and accurate care notes and incident reports.


Maintain professional boundaries and participant confidentiality.

Use initiative while following participant plans and procedures.

Be willing to learn and complete participant-specific training.
