Open Cut Mining Superintendent
Tomingley Gold Operations are seeking an Open Cut Mining Superintendent for our new Open Pits to work back-to-back on an 8/6 roster.
The Open Cut Mining Superintendent is accountable for the safe, productive and cost-effective execution of Open Cut mining activities and surface projects.
Responsibilities of the role include:
Provide visible safety and operational leadership across Open Cut and Surface activities.
Lead day-to-day drill and blast, load and haul and associated mining operations.
Translate the approved 1–6 month mine plan into executable weekly and daily work programs.
Monitor performance against production, cost and productivity targets and implement corrective actions where required.
Manage Open Cut contractors, including safety, productivity, cost and contractual performance.
Lead, coach and performance manage direct reports and operational personnel.
Support workforce planning, recruitment, training and succession planning.
Work closely with Technical Services to ensure mine plans are achievable and appropriately resourced.
Ensure compliance with applicable legislation, approvals, licences, management plans and company standards.
Lead or support incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are completed.
Contribute to budgets, forecasts and operational cost management.
Skills and experience
Significant experience in Open Cut mining operations and operational leadership.
Strong practical knowledge of hard rock drill and blast and load and haul operations.
Experience leading operational teams and managing mining contractors.
Demonstrated ability to deliver production targets safely and within budget.
Strong understanding of mining safety and risk management and systems.
Working knowledge of relevant NSW mining legislation and statutory requirements.
Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
Relevant mining, technical or operational qualification (desirable)
NSW Quarry Manager Practicing Certificate, or eligibility to obtain (desirable)
