Job description

CAE Aircraft Maintenance, a leading provider of General Aviation maintenance services at Moorabbin Airport, is currently seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Storeperson to support our aircraft maintenance operations in our Hangar. CAE Aircraft Maintenance, based at Moorabbin Airport, maintains a diverse range of General aviation, fixed-wing aircraft.

The Role

You will be assisting the engineering team with day-to-day operations within the Hangar. Maintaining accurate inventory control so that essential parts are available when needed, helping to minimise operational delays. The role also involves coordinating supplier quotes, freight logistics, and tool calibration, while ensuring all activities comply with organisational procedures and safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Order, receive, inspect, store, and record aircraft parts and consumables
  • Maintain accurate inventory control and monitor stock levels
  • Coordinate freight, logistics, and supplier deliveries
  • Obtain and review supplier quotes for cost and delivery efficiency
  • Manage tool calibration and maintain tool registers
  • Conduct regular stocktakes and resolve discrepancies
  • Assist with Financial, Supplier & CASA Audits
  • Deliver and collect parts from internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised store environment
  • Perform general administrative and basic accounts duties
  • Support operational needs and undertake additional duties as required

Our core hours are Monday to Friday, 7.30am-4pm.

Qualifications and experience required

  • Completion of Year 12 or equivalent
  • Driver’s license
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in inventory management (aviation or engineering environment preferred)
  • Experience handling aviation parts or controlled inventory is highly regarded (Aerotrack)
  • Strong organisational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and MYOB or similar systems
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to prioritise, multitask, and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible, reliable, and able to work independently
  • Must be able to provide a clean drug and alcohol sample prior to employment
