About the role
We are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead our Pub operations in Coffs Harbour, NSW. This is a full-time position that offers the opportunity to take strategic responsibility for all aspects of our hospitality venue. As General Manager, you will oversee daily operations, lead and develop our team, manage financial performance, and ensure we consistently deliver outstanding guest experiences. This role is critical to the success of our Coffs Harbour location and represents a key leadership position within our organisation. This is a hands on role!
Key responsibilities
- Overseeing all aspects of daily operational management, including front-of-house and back-of-house operations
- Leading, recruiting, training and developing staff to ensure the team upholds our high standards of service and professionalism
- Managing financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control and revenue optimisation
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, food safety standards and hospitality industry legislation
- Creating and implementing strategies to enhance guest satisfaction and loyalty
- Maintaining and improving facilities, equipment and infrastructure to ensure a premium guest experience
- Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, suppliers and the local community
- Monitoring and analysing performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and growth
- Representing the organisation at industry events and community functions within Coffs Harbour
- Managing marketing initiatives and promotional activities to drive occupancy and revenue
What we're looking for
- Minimum 5-7 years' experience in a hospitality management role, preferably in a similar venue or multi-outlet environment
- Proven track record of successfully managing P&L, budgets and financial forecasting
- Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams
- Excellent customer service orientation with a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences
- Sound knowledge of hospitality industry best practices, trends and operational standards
- Proficiency with hospitality management software and point-of-sale systems
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities, with capacity to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
- Understanding of health and safety regulations, liquor licensing (if applicable) and food safety standards
- Resilience and flexibility to adapt to the changing needs of the business
- Relevant hospitality qualification or certification (e.g. Hotel School qualification, RSA, Food Safety Certificate) is desirable
