This is a 12 month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 1, 2027 with possible extension and/or permanency. The Role
Thornlie SHS is ideally seeking a Teacher who can teach Science in the lower secondary (Years 7 to 10) in addition to teaching a combination of General and/or Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) level courses for Year 11 and 12 students. You should be highly organised and have excellent written and oral communication skills. It would be highly valued if you are an organised educator with strong written and verbal communication skills, who can develop and deliver engaging programs that are differentiated, challenging, caring and creative. The successful applicant should display a commitment to catering for the diverse needs of all students to ensure every learner can progress and achieve success. The successful applicant should have the ability to work collaboratively to plan and implement effective teaching and learning programs that align with the Thornlie SHS Business Plan. You should contribute to a positive school culture by maintaining safe and supportive learning environments and by providing opportunities that enable students to reach their full potential. With well-developed interpersonal skills, the successful applicant would build strong partnerships with students, colleagues, parents, and the wider community to enhance educational outcomes. The successful applicant will ideally display a passion for student engagement and the ability to inspire learners to achieve their personal best. You should work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team, supporting the initiatives and programs within the Science Learning Area.
