Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of short order cafe style menu items, coffee, takeaway food and beverage orders as required, and ensure all food and drinks are presented to a high standard and delivered promptly to customers.
- Provide friendly, efficient service and professional customer service at all times, engaging positively with customers to create a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere.
- Provide practical instruction and guidance to students in areas such as food preparation, service techniques, hygiene practices, and workplace safety in a supportive learning environment that encourages student development.
- Keep food preparation areas and kitchen equipment and appliances clean, maintaining a high level of food safety standards and hygiene in accordance with council and industry hygiene standards.
- Apply sound work health and safety, food safety, and public health practices in line with WHS and relevant regulatory bodies and ensure they are consistently maintained.
- Work collaboratively and effectively as part of a team and across Council’s hospitality outlets to provide support and delivery hospitality services

About you
- Certificate of Food Safety Supervisor or willingness to obtain, and at least 1st years Barista experience.
- Certificate II or III in Food Operations and Barista qualifications (Desirable).
- Working with Children Check, or ability to obtain.
- Demonstrated experience in working in a hospitality sector.
- Demonstrated experience and/or capability to deliver the Job Specific Key Accountabilities (outlined in the Position Description).
- Fundamental key capabilities as defined in the Key Capabilities Table (outlined in the Position Description).
What we offer
- Temporary full time, 35 hours per week, Term Contract for a period up to 1 December 2028
- Salary from $62,525 to $70,248 per year (depending on qualifications, skills and experience) plus 12% superannuation
