  • Full-time hours, Award covered role, starting from $46.70/hr + allowances
  • Work directly with Young People & Families

AtChurches of Christ,we have a new opportunity for a dedicated Support Practitionerto join our Children, Youth & Families team in the Brisbane and Moreton Bay area.

What You'll Do

  • Comprehensive Assessments:Conduct thorough assessments of children, young people, and families to identify strengths, needs, and risks.
  • Individualised Care Planning: Develop and implement tailored care plans in collaboration with clients and stakeholders.
  • Crisis Intervention:Provide timely support during crises to ensure safety and stability.
  • Advocacy:Advocate for clients to access necessary resources and services.
  • Skill Development:Facilitate evidence-based parenting programs and workshops.
  • Collaboration:Work closely with internal teams and external agencies to coordinate care.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with organisational standards.
  • Cultural Sensitivity:Ensure services are culturally safe and inclusive, respecting the diverse backgrounds of clients.

What You'll Need

  • Qualifications: Degree in social work, psychology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience:Demonstrated experience in child protection, family support, or community services.
  • Knowledge:Understanding of child protection legislation and out-of-home care frameworks.
  • A current driver's licence (P2 minimum) is required for the role.
  • Skills:Strong assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Cultural Competence:Ability to work effectively with diverse communities, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Essential for the role

Child Safety is everyone's responsibility. Our robust screening and recruitment processes help ensure we engage the right people to support children and young people. This role will require the following to be obtained before commencing:

  • Possess a National Police Check,
  • Working with Children (Blue Card),
  • Licensed Care Service (Child Protection) or the ability to acquire.
