The Role

We’re looking for either a legal secretary or career paralegal who can work full time to join our team and continue to develop their skills in family and criminal law. You’ll work closely with our Principal Partner and accredited specialist and supportive team on a variety of meaningful cases.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Assist with client enquiries and case management.
  • Prepare and lodge court documents and forms as well as briefs.
  • Liaise with barristers, clients, and other parties and solicitors.
  • Drafting correspondence and legal documents using LEAP.
  • Assisting with settlement conferences, hearings and file preparation.
  • Managing the team diary and court/ mediation calendar.
  • Managing the file hygiene of files and development of matters.
  • Managing the administration of client files.

What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years’ experience in family law and criminal law is a preference.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • A team player who can also run with things independently.
  • Comfortable with deadlines and file management.
  • Tech savvy with Microsoft Office, Adobe, AI and LEAP.
  • Familiarity with the Family and Criminal law court jurisdictions is a bonus.
  • A team member who is passionate about family law.
