Are you an experienced Family Violence practitioner or Team Leader looking for your next leadership opportunity?

This position is located in Warrnambool with 2 days WFH and 3 days onsite.

We are currently recruiting for a Specialist Family Violence Team Leader to join a leading community-based organisation supporting women, children and families impacted by family violence across the Southwest region of Victoria.

This role is suited to an experienced Family Violence Team Leader, Senior Practitioner or highly experienced Family Violence Case Manager with demonstrated leadership and supervision experience who is looking to take on a specialist team leadership position.

You’ll provide day-to-day leadership, professional supervision, secondary consultation and practice support to a team of specialist Family Violence Case Managers, while helping to maintain high-quality, trauma-informed and client-centred case management practice.

Warrnambool | Outreach locations as required
Full-time or part-time | 0.8-1.0 EFT
Fixed-term contract until April 2027
SCHADS Level 7, Pay Point 1-3 + super + salary packaging
Monday-Friday | Business hours, with flexibility as required

About the Role

As the Specialist Family Violence Team Leader, you will lead and support a team of Family Violence Case Managers delivering specialist services across intake, case management, outreach and after-hours response.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead, coach, mentor and provide regular professional supervision to a team of specialist Family Violence Case Managers
  • Provide specialist advice and secondary consultation around complex family violence matters, crisis intervention, risk assessment and safety planning
  • Support high-quality family violence case management practice informed by MARAM, trauma-informed, gender-informed, strengths-based and culturally responsive approaches
  • Build family violence capability across the team through reflective practice, professional development, coaching and practice guidance
  • Support effective service delivery, caseload management and workforce coverage, while maintaining a small case management caseload of approximately 2-3 clients when required
  • Work collaboratively with other Team Leaders, managers and external stakeholders to strengthen integrated family violence responses and achieve positive outcomes for women and children

About You

We’re looking for an experienced Family Violence professional who brings:

  • A degree qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Family Therapy or a related discipline, with a minimum of 4 years' relevant post-qualification experience
  • Strong experience in specialist family violence case management, including MARAM, risk assessment, safety planning, crisis intervention and complex client support
  • Demonstrated team leadership, staff supervision, coaching or people management experience within Family Violence, Family Services or a related community services environment
  • Comprehensive understanding of family violence theory and practice, including trauma-informed practice, gender analysis, intersectional and structural approaches
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide confident secondary consultation, practice guidance and support to staff and stakeholders
  • Sound judgement, resilience and the ability to manage competing priorities while building a positive, collaborative and high-performing team culture
