Full-Time Bookkeeper / Accounts Officer
About the Role
Mountain Trail RV is looking for an experienced, reliable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Accounts Officer to join our team.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is confident managing the day-to-day accounting functions of a medium-sized business and has strong, practical experience using Xero.
You'll take responsibility for maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, managing key bookkeeping and accounts functions, and working closely with our external accountant and internal team.

What You'll Be Doing
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Day-to-day management of Xero, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, bank reconciliations and credit card reconciliations
- Processing payroll and managing Single Touch Payroll (STP)
- Superannuation processing, reconciliations and year-end payroll finalisations
- Full-function Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Inventory receipting and reconciliations
- Reviewing and understanding Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet reports
- Preparation of BAS and IAS
- Liaising with our external accountant as required
- Working with suppliers to resolve invoice discrepancies and account queries
- Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring bookkeeping processes are completed on time
- Ensuring accounts processes comply with company financial policies and procedures
- Providing general accounts and administration support to the wider team when required
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who can confidently take ownership of the bookkeeping function and become a reliable part of our team.
Ideally, you will have:
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, Accounts Officer or similar finance/accounts professional
- Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping, or an equivalent/relevant qualification
- A minimum of 2 years' hands-on experience using Xero
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, reconciliations and superannuation
- A good understanding of Balance Sheets and Profit & Loss reports
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills
- The ability to organise your workload, meet deadlines and work independently
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to deal with suppliers, accountants and internal team members
- The ability to handle confidential and sensitive financial information with discretion and professionalism
- Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
