Portfolio People & Culture Manager
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Portfolio People & Culture Manager to lead the People & Culture function across our growing Queensland hotel portfolio. Based in Cairns, this role currently supports Cairns Harbourside and Mercure Townsville, with the opportunity to support additional hotels as our portfolio continues to expand.
Reporting to the General Managers of the hotels within your portfolio and partnering closely with the Director of People & Culture, you will act as a trusted advisor to operational leaders, delivering people strategies that drive engagement, performance, capability, and organisational culture.

Key Responsibilities
Lead the People & Culture function across multiple hotel properties
Partner with General Managers to deliver people strategies that support business goals
Collaborate with the La Vie Hotels & Resorts Director of People & Culture to implement company-wide people strategies, projects, and organisational initiatives
Drive talent acquisition, workforce planning, engagement, and retention initiatives
Provide expert advice on employee relations, investigations, performance management, and compliance
Lead learning and development programs, succession planning, and leadership development initiatives
Coach and develop managers to enhance leadership capability and people management skills
Identify training and development opportunities that support business needs and succession planning objectives
Facilitate leadership workshops, team development programs, and performance improvement initiatives
Oversee employee engagement, recognition, and wellbeing programs
Monitor workforce metrics and provide insights to improve performance and people outcomes
Ensure compliance with employment legislation, Modern Awards, company policies, and workplace obligations
Lead and develop the People & Culture team
Support the onboarding and integration of additional hotels as the portfolio continues to grow
Champion La Vie Hotels & Resorts' values, culture, and ways of working
Lead employee experience programs that foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture
Ensure consistency in people practices, employee experience, and compliance across all properties.
About You
You are a commercially minded HR professional who enjoys partnering with leaders to build high-performing teams and exceptional workplace cultures.
To be successful, you will have:
Minimum 5-7 years' experience in a People & Culture leadership role
A tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, Employment Relations, or a related discipline is preferred
Experience within hospitality, tourism, accommodation, or service-based industries preferred
Strong knowledge of Hospitality General Industry Award, Australian employment legislation, Fair Work requirements, and Modern Awards
Demonstrated experience supporting multi-site operations
Proven employee relations, investigation, and performance management expertise
Exceptional stakeholder management and coaching skills
Strong reporting, analytical, and workforce planning capabilities
The ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational support
