As a Technical Lead, you’ll provide senior technical leadership across digital platforms, ensuring technology solutions align with Australian Retirement Trust’s technology and business strategy and deliver positive member outcomes Working closely with architects, delivery teams, vendors, and business stakeholders, you’ll lead solution design activities, influence platform direction, and ensure technology outcomes align with enterprise standards and best practice.

You’ll also play an important leadership role by providing technical guidance and mentoring team members, promoting governance standards, and helping foster a culture of accountability, stability, and innovation across Technology.

This role is a permanent opportunity and is based in Brisbane or Sydney.

Responsibilities
Day to day, you’ll:

  • Provide technical leadership across platform design, architecture alignment, and solution delivery.
  • Partner with stakeholders, vendors, architects, and technology specialists to define and deliver effective technology solutions.
  • Lead design activities and ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture, standards, and governance requirements.
  • Contribute to platform roadmaps and help define the strategic vision for technologies within your domain.
  • Assess emerging technologies and identify opportunities to improve capability, efficiency, and business outcomes.
  • Develop, document, and review solution designs, technical decisions, and supporting artefacts, providing expert guidance to ensure quality, consistency, and compliance with best practice.
  • Manage technical risks, perform impact assessments, and support informed decision-making.
  • Mentor, coach, and support technical team members in sound architectural and engineering practices.
  • Promote innovative thinking while balancing operational stability and delivery outcomes.
  • Support compliance with security, regulatory, financial, and organisational policies.


Qualifications
It goes without saying you’ll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We’ll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It’s quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too:

  • You hold a relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Your experience includes working within Agile delivery environments such as SAFe or Scrum.
  • You’ll bring strong knowledge of solution architecture processes, methods, and frameworks.
  • You’re highly experienced in technology architecture, systems analysis, or similar roles within a large or mid‑sized organisation.
  • You have demonstrated success leading, mentoring, and influencing technical teams.
  • Your ability to manage competing priorities and complex stakeholder requirements is well developed.
  • You’ll possess exceptional analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
  • You’re experienced designing and managing solutions across on‑premises, outsourced, and cloud environments.
  • You have strong communication skills and can engage effectively with business stakeholders, vendors, technical specialists, and leaders.
  • Your background may include experience within superannuation or financial services environments.
  • You’ll ideally hold formal qualifications or certifications in solution architecture, systems analysis, or related disciplines.
  • You’re knowledgeable in technology governance frameworks and enterprise decision‑making processes.
  • You will bring proven experience working with the latest versions of Sitecore XM, XP, and XM Cloud (XMC), together with strong expertise in Azure and .NET development.
  • Experience with the following will be highly regarded: React Native experience; Identity and Access Management (Ping, Entra ID, OAuth/OIDC); AI‑assisted engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot or Microsoft Copilot; Platform Engineering, SRE, observability, and performance engineering experience.
