A rare opportunity has become available to join the team at Alasan Cottage Preschool in a full-time educator position.
As a small, established and consistent team, opportunities to join Alasan Cottage Preschool do not come around often. We are looking for a passionate and dedicated educator who is seeking a long-term position within a supportive preschool environment where relationships, collaboration and high-quality practice are genuinely valued.
Alasan Cottage Preschool is an Exceeding-rated, community-focused early childhood service providing a warm, welcoming and play-based learning environment for children aged 2–5 years.
We are committed to creating a nurturing and engaging preschool environment where children are supported to learn, develop, build confidence and develop a strong sense of belonging through meaningful, child-centred learning experiences.
As a full-time educator, you will work closely alongside our team and have the opportunity to contribute your own ideas, knowledge and strengths to our educational program while developing strong and meaningful relationships with our children and families.
Key responsibilities
Building warm, respectful and responsive relationships with children and families
Planning and implementing meaningful, play-based learning experiences based on children's interests, strengths, needs and developmental goals
Completing observations and contributing to children's individual learning documentation
Demonstrating a thorough understanding of the programming and learning cycle and applying this knowledge within everyday practice
Applying the EYLF to curriculum planning, documentation and reflective practice
Contributing to critical reflection and the ongoing development of our educational program
Supporting children's wellbeing, inclusion, independence and positive relationships
Working collaboratively with educators, families and other professionals
Maintaining a safe, welcoming and engaging learning environment
Following service policies, procedures and all relevant regulatory requirements
About you
We are looking for an educator who is passionate about early childhood education and takes pride in providing meaningful learning experiences and building genuine relationships with children and families.
You will ideally have:
Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care, or an approved equivalent qualification
Current First Aid qualification
Current CPR qualification
Current approved Child Protection training
Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)
Extensive knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)
A thorough understanding of the programming and learning cycle, with the ability to confidently contribute to observations, planning, implementation, evaluation and reflection
Knowledge of the National Quality Standard (NQS) and National Quality Framework (NQF)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
A warm, professional and respectful approach when communicating with children, families and colleagues
A positive and collaborative approach to working as part of a small team
A genuine commitment to providing high-quality education and care
