Job description

What you’ll do

You’ll own and coordinate the introduction of new products - from the initial requirement through to manufacture and completion.

Your role will include:

  • Managing the Product Data Management process for new manufactured and purchased items.
  • Developing and maintaining BOMs, routings, cost estimates and product information.
  • Working with Engineering to identify tooling, moulding and technical requirements.
  • Working with Sales and Proposals to provide the information needed to secure orders.
  • Coordinating new product orders through Planning and Operations.
  • Working directly with planners and factory teams to get new products manufactured.
  • Tracking lead times, costs, issues and risks and communicating these to the relevant teams.
  • Walking new products through to completion rather than simply handing them over.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve products, processes and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Supporting product catalogue updates, pricing information, lead times and other sales tools.
  • Raising and progressing OFIs and GECOs through to completion.

What counts as a "new product"?

We’re talking about products that haven’t been made before - including development and trial products, products requiring new tooling or moulds, and products requiring significant engineering or project coordination.

What we’re looking for

You’re an engineer who is practical, curious and commercially minded.

You enjoy working with people across different parts of a business and you’re comfortable getting onto the factory floor to understand what’s really happening.

You’ll bring:

A tertiary qualification in Mechanical, Industrial or Process Engineering, or relevant experience in a similar engineering, project management or technical product support role.

  • Experience in an engineering, manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • CAD experience; Creo Parametric will be highly regarded.
  • An understanding of manufacturing processes and taking products from engineering into production.
  • Experience with BOMs, routings, costing and product data.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • A high level of attention to detail.
  • The ability to identify problems and turn them into practical actions.
  • A commercial mindset — balancing customer requirements with cost, quality and manufacturing realities.
  • Experience with METS, mineral processing or mining equipment will be highly regarded. Experience in iron ore or gold processing will also be advantageous.

Why Multotec?

Multotec is a privately owned engineering and manufacturing business supplying mineral processing solutions to the mining industry throughout Australia and globally through the broader Multotec Group.

With approximately 200 employees across multiple locations, we design, manufacture, supply and support equipment used in some of the world’s largest mining operations.

We’re growing, but we’re still a business where people know each other, decisions can be made quickly and practical ideas can turn into action.

You’ll work with people across Sales, Engineering, Planning and Operations and have genuine visibility of the products you’re helping develop.

Logo Before Ego isn’t just a tagline at Multotec - it’s how we work.

We leave the ego at the door, work together and focus on getting the right outcome for our customers and our business.

We value people who:

  • Roll up their sleeves.
  • Take ownership.
  • Solve problems.
  • Share knowledge.
  • Care about the outcome, not who gets the credit.

What success looks like

Within your first 12–24 months, you’ll be someone the business relies on to get new products moving.

You’ll have built strong relationships across Sales, Engineering, Planning and Operations, improved the way new products are introduced, and helped turn customer opportunities into products that can be manufactured efficiently and repeatedly.

Most importantly, you’ll be able to look around the factory and see products that you helped bring to life.

If that sounds like the kind of engineering role you’re looking for, we’d like to hear from you.
