The Opportunity

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Mechanical Trade Assistant to join our team in Mackay. In this permanent full-time role, you will be responsible for assisting Diesel Fitters with service and repairs of heavy engineering parts and components.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist trades people conducting repairs of mechanical equipment and parts
• Assist with maintaining the workshop and associated equipment in a safe, clean, and tidy condition
• Operation of grinders, spray painting equipment and other tools and machinery as required in a safe manner

About You

• Sound mechanical aptitude
• Ability to operate grinders, spray painting equipment and other tools and machinery safely
• Excellent attention to detail
• Hands on person who can prioritise workload and work to deadlines
• Able to work both independently and as part of a team
• Forklift licence (beneficial but not essential)
• Previous experience working in mining / manufacturing industry (preferred)
