About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Payroll & Accounts Officer to join our Finance team on a fixed-term basis to provide maternity leave cover.

Reporting directly to the CFO & CEO, this is a varied role with responsibility across payroll, accounts payable and receivable, resident accounts, reconciliations, and financial administration. This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with a supportive team and contribute to the financial operations of a community-focused aged care organisation.

About Us

Nagambie HealthCare is a progressive, community-owned rural health service located on the beautiful Nagambie Lakes.

We pride ourselves on our patient-centred approach, professional excellence and collaborative team environment. Our mission is to provide accessible, compassionate and high-quality healthcare that makes a positive difference in the lives of those we serve.

We value integrity, accountability and continuous improvement and seek team members who share these values and are passionate about contributing to healthcare excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the organisation’s fortnightly payroll process with our external payroll provider, including preparing and submitting payroll information, employee changes, salary packaging details, leave and other payroll adjustments, and reviewing payroll reports for accuracy and timely processing.

  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice processing, payment arrangements, supporting documentation and receipts, following up outstanding invoices and payments, and maintaining accurate financial records.

  • Manage resident invoicing, including the preparation, processing and reconciliation of resident accounts.

  • Assist with bank reconciliations and cash management activities, including identifying and following up discrepancies and ensuring financial records are accurate and up to date.

  • Assist with the preparation and coordination of monthly Finance, Risk and Audit Committee (FRAC) meetings, including preparing agendas, taking and distributing minutes, and following up action items.

  • Manage resident agreements, including preparing, updating and maintaining agreements and ensuring all required documentation is completed accurately and kept up to date.

  • Manage Refundable Accommodation Deposit (RAD) refunds in line with applicable Aged Care prudential requirements and organisational policies. Ensure refunds are processed accurately and within required timeframes, with all documentation completed and refunds properly reconciled and recorded.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and organisational policies and procedures.

What We're Looking For

  • Certificate III or IV in Accounting, or an equivalent relevant qualification.

  • Experience in payroll processing and administration, preferably in healthcare or a complex organisational environment.

  • Experience using payroll and accounting systems, such as MYOB.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in payroll, financial records and data entry.

  • Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Sound understanding of general accounting principles and practices.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff across all departments.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive payroll and financial information professionally.

What We Offer

At Nagambie HealthCare, we are committed to supporting the professional development and wellbeing of our staff. We offer:

  • Access to professional development and learning opportunities

  • Salary packaging benefits

  • Flexible working arrangements to support work-life balance

  • Access to onsite physiotherapy services

  • A supportive and collaborative team environment

We value the contribution of every team member and strive to create an inclusive workplace where our staff have the tools, support and opportunities they need to succeed and thrive.
