Placemaking & Services Strategist (Temporary)

  • Temporary full-time, 35 hours per week (up to June 2028)

About the role:

We’re seeking an experienced Strategist to join our highly productive team. This position will provide strategic stewardship to represent and connect as One Team, each of the functional strategies to drive strong outcomes and community value, aligned with the Council’s Community Strategic Plan and defined strategic objectives.

You will provide active agile leadership, direction and support to the Placemaking and Services leadership team and direct reports, to foster strong relationship across the portfolio, to create connected outcomes.

Your active leadership in Council’s Committees and governance is critical, that the position is responsible for, while ensuring collaboration, efficiencies and continuous improvement is applied.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following key skills and attributes:

We are looking for someone who is highly organised, customer focused and enjoys working collaboratively.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Extensive experience in coordinating the delivery of high-level strategic strategies / plans with demonstrated record of achievement.
  • Demonstrated strategic, analytical and lateral thinking and an ability to translate knowledge into strategies and strategic approaches.
  • A sound understanding of the economic, environmental and social dynamics relevant to Campbelltown.
  • Demonstrated experience in integrating strategic information and projects with organisational activities to ensure coordinated outcomes.
  • Proven ability to understand, assess and interpret complex technical issues, and write clear, concise reports, and provide appropriate recommendations.
  • Vision and an ability to think and plan for the future.
  • Experience in operating in a diverse organisation, with a demonstrated ability to effectively work within a political environment and present in a public forum.
  • Highly developed political acumen.
  • Class C Drivers Licence.
