Tsurumi Pump Australia is seeking an enthusiastic and commercially focused Business Development Manager to join our team and play a key role in expanding our presence across Queensland and supporting our continued growth nationally.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced sales professional with a background in submersible pumps, pumping equipment, water management, mining, construction, or a related industry to take ownership of an important and growing territory.

Working primarily from your home office in Queensland, you will have the freedom and flexibility to manage your territory while developing strong relationships with customers, distributors, contractors and key industry stakeholders. Regular travel throughout Queensland will be an important part of the role, providing the opportunity to get out into the market, meet customers face‑to‑face and identify new business opportunities.

The Role

As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Developing and maintaining strong, long‑term customer and business relationships.
• Identifying and pursuing new sales and business development opportunities.
• Growing sales of Tsurumi pumps, parts and associated equipment across Queensland.
• Assessing customer applications and selecting the appropriate product and pumping solution based on flow, head, liquid characteristics and site requirements.
• Managing and following up quotes, tenders and sales opportunities, while providing customers with accurate product information, quotations and technical support to maximise conversion.
• Building relationships across the mining, construction, water treatment and industrial sectors.
• Providing regular market feedback and identifying opportunities for further growth.

About You

We are looking for someone who is organised, proactive and commercially driven, with the ability to work independently while being an important part of a national team. You will ideally have:

• Experience in the pump industry, with 3+ years’ pump sales experience highly regarded
• Strong understanding of submersible pumps and how to select the appropriate one
• Proven B2B sales and business development skills, including building relationships with key decision‑makers
• Strong communication, technical and problem‑solving skills
• Experience managing customer requirements from initial enquiry through to completion
• Experience with both inbound and outbound sales, with the ability to convert enquiries into sales
• Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite
• MYOB Advanced experience highly regarded
