Job description

Ignite have partnered with aleading industrial engineering and service organisation who are seeking a hands-on Service Operations Lead (Planner) to coordinate service, repair, and refurbishment activities across multiple Australian service centres. Based in Melbourne, this role is responsible for managing workflow, planning resources, coordinating materials, and ensuring efficient service delivery to customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and schedule service, repair, and refurbishment work across a national service network.
  • Use SAP and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems to manage work orders, materials, and job requirements.
  • Coordinate workflow and priorities with workshop, engineering, service, and procurement teams.
  • Proactively identify material shortages, capacity constraints, and potential delivery risks.
  • Monitor work in progress and maintain accurate planning data within SAP.
  • Support improvements in workshop efficiency, turnaround times, and resource utilisation.
  • Provide regular updates on workload, priorities, and job status to stakeholders.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous planning or scheduling experience within manufacturing, engineering, maintenance, machining, or industrial service environments.
  • Practical experience using SAP and MRP systems.
  • Strong understanding of workshop operations, materials planning, and job prioritisation.
  • Ability to manage multiple work streams and changing customer demands.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Trade-qualified or technically trained in machining, fitting, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience within machine shop, mechanical repair, or industrial maintenance environments.
  • Knowledge of rotating equipment, pumps, mechanical components, or industrial service operations.
  • Experience coordinating activities across multiple locations or service centres.
