Job description

Are you a Dental Assistant who genuinely enjoys caring for people - not just assisting with procedures?

We are looking to hire a bubbly Dental Assistant on a casual basis who is warm, positive and people-focused to join our close-knit team at Dentique, a long-established dental practice in North Sydney. This role is ideal for someone who loves creating a calm, supportive experience for patients and wants to grow their skills in a modern, high-quality clinical environment.

Our approach is centred around giving patients time, attention and comfort. We prioritise meaningful interactions, clear communication and a relaxed atmosphere - for both patients and our team.

About the Role

2 - 3 days per week with strong potential to increase days
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and/or Fridays in the near future
8:00am – 5:45pm
No weekends or late nights!

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Chairside assisting across a range of treatments
  • Preparing treatment rooms and patients for procedures
  • Infection control and sterilisation
  • Supporting the clinical team and Practice Manager
  • Welcoming patients and helping them feel comfortable and cared for
  • Contributing to a smooth and calm daily workflow
  • Assisting with occasional lab work and reception duties

We have created an experience that feels different from traditional dentistry. Patients are welcomed into a relaxing reception space with refreshments, and we allow generous appointment times, so they never feel rushed. Our dentist consults with patients before and after treatment, and our team follows up to check on their wellbeing.

We also provide comfort options such as noise‑cancelling headphones, blankets, and entertainment during treatment to help reduce anxiety.

Clinically, we provide a wide range of treatments in-house, including general and preventative care, routine hygiene, same‑day crowns, implant procedures, twilight sedation, whitening, splints and appliances. With our on‑site lab and modern technology, this role offers excellent learning opportunities for the right candidate.

Support & Training

We have a supportive leadership structure that will guide you through your onboarding and ongoing development. You will never be left to figure things out on your own - we work as a team.

We also allow time for proper handovers and learning - we don't expect perfection from day one.

What We're Looking For

We care more about your attitude and personality than years of experience.

You will thrive in this role if you:

  • Have at least 6 months dental assisting experience (preferred)
  • Have a naturally warm and caring personality
  • Enjoy talking with people and building rapport
  • Take pride in delivering excellent customer service
  • Are reliable, proactive and punctual
  • Want to grow your skills and confidence in dentistry long term
  • Work well both independently and as part of a team
  • Have valid Australian work authorisation or appropriate visa status

What We Offer

  • $30–$38 per hour depending on experience
  • Supportive, friendly and long‑standing team
  • No weekends or late nights
  • Modern technology and varied clinical exposure
  • Ongoing training and development
  • Convenient North Sydney location near public transport
  • A positive workplace culture where team members are valued
