Job Description
The Role
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Grounds Team Member to support the ongoing care, presentation and maintenance of the grounds and gardens at Peninsula Grammar.
Working as part of our Facilities team, you will play an important role in caring for our grounds and gardens, helping to ensure our campus remains well maintained and welcoming for students, staff and visitors. From garden beds and landscaped areas to lawns, sporting fields and outdoor spaces, you will contribute to the ongoing presentation and upkeep of the School. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, has a passion for gardening and takes pride in maintaining high-quality environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertaking general gardening and grounds maintenance, including mowing, trimming, edging and weeding
- Maintaining garden beds, trees, shrubs and landscaped areas across the campus
- Assisting with planting, mulching, pruning and seasonal garden projects
- Supporting the upkeep and presentation of lawns, sporting fields and outdoor learning spaces
- Assisting with irrigation maintenance and monitoring the health of gardens and grounds
- Monitoring and reporting grounds maintenance issues or safety hazards
- Maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming campus environment
- Supporting general maintenance tasks and School event set-up as required
- Assisting with School traffic management duties as required
About You
- A genuine interest in gardening, horticulture and grounds maintenance
- Practical, hands‑on approach with good problem‑solving skills
- Experience in gardening, groundskeeping, landscaping, horticulture or a similar role is desirable
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards
- Commitment to safe work practices
- Reliable and committed, with a strong work ethic and willingness to contribute to the wider Facilities team

Desired Skills and Experience

Current Working with Children Check & PoliceCheck (or willingness to apply)
First Aid, Asthma & Anaphylaxis Management, CPR Training - Current or willing to complete
Mandatory Child Safety training – provided by the school upon commencement
