About the role
As a Senior Oncology Pharmacist, you will play a key role in delivering advanced clinical pharmacy services to inpatients and outpatients at Coffs Harbour Health Campus.
Working closely with Pharmacy leadership and the broader multidisciplinary team, you will provide specialist clinical pharmacy services while contributing to medication safety, quality improvement and contemporary pharmacy practice.
You will have the opportunity to:
- Provide advanced clinical pharmacy services, including patient counselling, drug information, dispensary and manufacturing functions.
- Support safe and effective medication management and Quality Use of Medicines principles.
- Contribute to medication safety, quality improvement and clinical governance initiatives.
- Support the development, review and implementation of pharmacy policies, procedures and clinical guidelines.
- Deliver education to pharmacy staff, healthcare professionals and patients.
- Support the implementation and ongoing use of the eMeds system.
- Maintain and broaden your clinical expertise through clinical pharmacy rotations.
- Contribute to the professional development of clinical pharmacy staff.
- Participate in rostered weekends, public holidays and on-call pharmacy services.
About you
You are an experienced hospital pharmacist with strong clinical expertise and a genuine commitment to delivering safe, evidence-based and patient-centred care.
You will bring:
- Registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia.
- Relevant postgraduate qualifications in Clinical Pharmacy or a related discipline, together with relevant specialty experience; or substantial hospital pharmacy experience including experience in the relevant specialty.
- Extensive experience providing advanced clinical pharmacy services in a hospital setting.
- Strong knowledge of contemporary clinical pharmacy practice, Quality Use of Medicines and medication safety.
- A demonstrated record of contributing to quality assurance and medication safety initiatives.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Experience providing education and training to healthcare professionals and patients.
