We’re currently recruiting for an APS6 Senior Data Analyst to join the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing , supporting the Benefits Integrity Division – Risk Analytics Section .
\n
This is a great opportunity for an experienced data professional with hands‑on capability across SQL, Power BI, Python, R and/or SAS , who enjoys working with large datasets and turning complex information into meaningful insights.
\n
Location: ACT preferred; however, candidates based in NSW, VIC and QLD will also be considered
\n
Working arrangement: Hybrid
\n
Security Clearance: Current Australian Government Baseline clearance
About the role \n
The successful candidate will work within the Risk Analytics Section , supporting the development and refinement of analytical models, dashboards and visualisation tools used to monitor patterns of non-compliant behaviour.
What you’ll be doing \n
- \n
- Analyse large and complex datasets to identify patterns, trends and anomalies \n
- Develop and enhance Power BI dashboards, reporting tools and visualisations \n
- Use SQL, Python, R and/or SAS for data extraction, transformation, analysis and validation \n
- Support the development and refinement of analytical models \n
- Perform data cleansing, reconciliation and data quality assurance \n
- Work with policy, compliance, program and technical stakeholders \n
- Prepare analytical outputs and insights for senior stakeholders \n
- Support the implementation of new compliance and risk analytics measures \n
- Document data sources, business rules, assumptions and reporting logic \n
What we’re looking for \n
- \n
- Strong experience as a Senior Data Analyst, Data Analyst, BI Analyst or Reporting Analyst \n
- Experience with data quality, reconciliation, profiling and validation \n
- Ability to work with large, sensitive or complex datasets \n
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills \n
- Federal Government or regulated environment experience highly regarded \n
