An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Payroll Officer to join a well-established and growing technology business on an initial 3-3.5 month contract, running until mid-January 2027.
This is a great opportunity for a Payroll Officer with Payroll Metrics / Paymetrics experience who is comfortable getting into the detail and taking ownership of the end-to-end ANZ payroll function, supporting BAU operations while the business undertakes a payroll project.
The Responsibilities:
Reporting into the Payroll Manager, you'll be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of monthly payroll for approximately 350-400 employees across Australia and New Zealand.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Processing the end-to-end monthly payroll process across ANZ using PayRTA / Paymetrics
- Manage payroll data including adjustments, commissions, new starters, terminations and other employee changes
- Prepare and process payroll journals and bank payments following each pay run
- Manually calculate terminations, redundancies and new starter payments where required
- Complete leave reconciliations and maintain accurate payroll records
- Prepare superannuation, PAYG and payroll tax payments
- Complete month-end payroll reconciliations, accruals and reporting
- Reconcile payroll and investigate and resolve discrepancies
- Liaise with employees regarding payroll queries and provide timely support
- Work closely with Finance and People & Culture to ensure payroll data is accurate and up to date
About You:
We're looking for an experienced Payroll Officer who can hit the ground running and take ownership of the payroll function from day one.
You'll bring:
- 3-5+ years' experience managing payroll end-to-end for ~400+ employees
- MUST have hands-on experience using Payroll Metrics / Paymetrics payroll system
- Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, superannuation and payroll tax
- Experience in processing New Zealand payroll is highly desirable
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong Excel skills and strong numerical/analytical ability
- The ability to work independently and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach

- Experience using Payroll Metrics / Paymetrics payroll system is essential
- Must be immediately available or on 1 weeks' notice or less
- Sydney CBD Location - 3 days in the office, 2 days from home
