MIDDLE LEADERSHIP POSITION: JUNIOR YEARS – DIVERSE LEARNING LEADER
Full Time Continuing, Commencing 2027
POSITION PURPOSE
The Junior Years Diverse Learning Leader is a Middle Leadership role that supports inclusive learning, student access and continuity of support for students in Years 5 and 6. Working under the direction of the Director of Diverse Learning and the Director of Junior Years, the role assists with the coordination of personalised learning, reasonable adjustments, intervention, enrichment and case management so that students with diverse learning needs are known, understood and supported to participate confidently in the life of the College.
The role works in close partnership with the Junior Years Learning Leaders, Junior Years Pastoral Leaders, Diverse Learning Teachers, Teacher Aides, Year 5 and 6 teachers, families and external specialists to support coordinated and student-centred responses. It has a particular focus on assisting with the case management of Year 5 and 6 students and strengthening the transition from Year 6 into Year 7 through timely information sharing, collaborative planning and consistent support.
This is a 4 year, fixed term appointment with the ability for another 4 years at a Tier 2 Middle Leader Level, in accordance with the Catholic Employers Single Enterprise Agreement (Religious Institute Schools of Queensland) 2023-2026.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The College Mission, Vision and Values are brought to life through inclusive, service-oriented leadership that helps students, families and staff experience a strong sense of belonging.
Trusted and respectful relationships are built with students, families, staff and leaders, supporting collaborative and effective Diverse Learning practices in the Junior Years.
Inclusive education knowledge, student data, family input and specialist advice are used to support practical planning, case management and responsive support for students in Years 5 and 6.
Culturally safe and respectful Diverse Learning practices support equity, access, participation and belonging for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students requiring support.
Teachers and support staff are assisted to provide differentiated learning, reasonable adjustments, intervention, enrichment and inclusive support so students can participate, progress and achieve.
Agreed Diverse Learning priorities and improvement initiatives are implemented in the Junior Years through collaboration, reflection and practical evidence-informed action.
Student records, adjustment documentation, compliance processes, REALM (LMS) pages and transition information are accurate, timely and clearly communicated to support continuity of learning, wellbeing and belonging.
