About the role\n

The Lead Advisor, Workplace Adjustments provides specialist case management, advice and support to employees, principals and managers with disability and/or neurodiversity who require workplace adjustments to perform the essential requirements of their role. The position is responsible for supporting the assessment, provision, coordination, implementation and ongoing monitoring of reasonable workplace adjustments.The responsibilities include:

  • Leading the delivery and continuous improvement of workplace adjustment services, including assessment, coordination and implementation.
  • \n
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external providers to ensure timely, accessible and effective workplace supports.
  • \n
  • Developing streamlined, self-service solutions and processes that reduce barriers and minimise the need for reassessment when employees change roles.
  • \n
  • Supporting reporting, monitoring and continuous improvement of workplace adjustment services.
  • \n

About you\n

    \n
  • Strong understanding of legislation and obligations relating to disability, discrimination and workplace adjustments.
  • \n
  • Experience providing case management and support to people with disability, preferably within a workplace setting.
  • \n
  • Understanding of disability, chronic health and mental health conditions, with an empathetic and person-centred approach.
  • \n
  • Experience managing projects related to disability, accessibility and workplace adjustments.
  • \n
  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
  • \n

Essential requirements of the role\n

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or relevant work experience.
  • \n
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education .
  • \n

Note: the selection process will include a range of assessment techniques to assist in determining your suitability for the role. Successful candidates will be required to undertake pre-employment screening for this role which includes a National Criminal History Check.

As a condition of employment, successful candidates not currently employed by the Department must provide a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) clearance number. Renewal is not required after the WWCC expires, as long as you remain in a non-child-related role. Employer obligations only apply while the WWCC is valid.
