We are looking for an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to lead our warehouse floor and help ensure our educational resources reach schools, teachers and families accurately and on time.
About the role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the warehouse and the performance of the warehouse team.
This is a hands‑on leadership role. You will allocate work, manage priorities, coach the team and oversee safety, quality and fulfilment performance, while also stepping into picking, packing, dispatch, stock replenishment and forklift duties when required.
Key responsibilities
- Allocate daily work and priorities to ensure orders are completed accurately and on time
- Prepare rosters and coordinate staffing requirements during busy and peak periods
- Induct, train and support new warehouse employees and casuals
- Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback and address performance concerns
- Oversee the picking, packing and dispatch of local, export and large‑volume orders
- Monitor fulfilment performance, including delivery‑in‑full and on‑time targets and 24‑hour dispatch expectations
- Review fulfilment reports, investigate errors and implement corrective actions
- Coordinate stocktakes and assist with inbound stock, inventory adjustments and stock replenishment
- Book couriers and freight using Shippit and other courier systems
- Maintain a clean, organised and efficient warehouse environment
- Lead weekly Safety Walks and ensure appropriate safety procedures and PPE requirements are followed
- Receive and unload deliveries, including containers and trucks
- Operate forklifts and assist across all areas of warehouse operations when required
- Identify opportunities to improve warehouse systems, layout and processes
About you
You are an experienced warehouse professional who enjoys leading people while remaining actively involved in daily operations.
You will bring:
- Experience supervising or leading a team in a warehouse, fulfilment or logistics environment
- Strong experience in order fulfilment and inventory management
- The ability to plan work, manage competing priorities and meet dispatch deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality and accuracy
- Confidence providing direction, feedback, training and day‑to‑day support
- Sound judgement and a practical, proactive approach to problem‑solving
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to work independently and take ownership of warehouse outcomes
- Competency using Microsoft Excel and Word
- Experience with DEAR, Shippit or similar warehouse and dispatch systems, or the ability to learn quickly
- A positive, reliable and collaborative working style
- A current forklift licence and driver’s licence are required. First Aid and CPR qualifications would be highly regarded.
The role involves regular physical work, including standing for extended periods, handling stock, operating a high‑reach forklift and lifting items weighing up to approximately 15–20 kilograms.
