As our Australian business continues to grow, we are seeking a National Manufacturing Operations Manager to lead the performance, transformation and ongoing development of our national design and manufacturing operations.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, Australia, this highly visible leadership role will oversee a competent and motivated Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Design & Estimating team, ensuring operational capability aligns with customer demand, project delivery requirements and long‑term business objectives.
This is a rare opportunity to shape ATCO’s national operating model, improve safety, quality, delivery, cost and working‑capital performance, and build the capability required for next phase of growth. We’re looking for a respected manufacturing leader with a proven track record in Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement and business transformation, who can build credibility quickly, inspire teams and deliver sustainable results.

What You’ll Be Doing
Develop and execute the national manufacturing strategy to support growth and operational performance.
Improve safety, schedule adherence, productivity, quality, efficiency and cost performance while reducing waste.
Drive Lean Manufacturing principles and operational excellence across all manufacturing facilities.
Establish and maintain operational standards, governance frameworks and performance measures.
Build and govern a product innovation pipeline, including product standardisation, platform development, DfMA and new manufacturing methods.
Lead, coach and hold national functional leaders accountable for performance, capability development and succession.
Maintain a strong presence on the factory floor, building accountability, engagement and high‑performance behaviours.
What You’ll Bring
Significant senior leadership experience within manufacturing, industrial, engineering, building products or related sectors.
Proven success leading multi‑site operations and delivering measurable improvements in safety, quality, delivery, cost, people and operational performance.
Practical experience deploying Lean Manufacturing, an enterprise operating system or a manufacturing excellence framework.
Demonstrated success in DfMA, product standardisation, product innovation or the introduction of new manufacturing methods.
Strong understanding of design management, engineering governance, production, supply chain and project‑based manufacturing.
Strong commercial and financial acumen, including experience using operational and financial data to improve cost, inventory and working‑capital performance.
A visible, hands‑on leadership style with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Proven capability to lead change, overcome resistance and embed sustainable improvements.
Experience within building products, construction materials, steel, timber, industrial equipment, automotive, structural or mechanical manufacturing, modular construction, or other complex project‑based manufacturing environments will be highly regarded.
