About the role
We are seeking a PM Shift Welfare / Operations Support professional to join our team at our Craigieburn, VIC facility on a full-time basis. This is a crucial position that combines welfare responsibilities with operational support during evening into early morning shift hours. You will be a key point of contact for drivers during the PM shift, helping resolve operational issues, communicating important information and ensuring drivers have the support they need to complete their runs safely and efficiently.
Hours will be late evenings into early hours of the morning and will be discussed upon hiring process.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor and support the welfare and safety of drivers during PM shift operations
- Address employee concerns, grievances and welfare issues in a timely and professional manner
- Act as a key point of contact for drivers regarding operational matters
- Communicate pickup, delivery and run information to customers
- Entering PODs / Logbook pages into systems
- Record and communicate incidents, delays, breakdowns and other operational issues
- Complete PM shift checklists and ensure all required tasks are completed
- Maintain accurate records of welfare issues, incidents and resolutions
- Assist with general transport administration and operational tasks
- Communicate effectively between shift teams and senior management to ensure continuity of operations
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and provide feedback on operational processes
What we're looking for
- Proven experience in a welfare, HR or employee relations role within a warehouse, logistics or distribution environment
- Strong understanding of NHVR regulations / Knowledge of logistics operations
- Organised and able to manage multiple tasks at once
- Calm and professional when dealing with unexpected issues
- Reliable and punctual
- Comfortable working independently during the PM shift
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport with employees at all levels
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive employee matters with confidentiality and discretion
- Ability to remain calm and composed when managing conflict or challenging situations
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in record-keeping and reporting
- Proficiency with computer systems and basic data entry
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a genuine commitment to employee wellbeing
Experience
Previous experience in transport, logistics, fleet operations or administration is highly regarded.
Experience working directly with drivers or within a transport operations environment will be advantageous.
Training will be provided to the successful candidate on Ausway Transport's systems, procedures and operational requirements.
