We are currently looking to continue our ongoing growth with the addition of a full-time Account Manager to join our Sales team in our Brisbane office. The primary responsibility of this role is to expand and grow the Control Automation Solutions business by identifying new opportunities, developing customer relationships, promoting our solutions and implementing effective sales strategies across the allocated territory. The Account Manager will be responsible for meeting or exceeding assigned sales and bookings targets through effective planning, customer engagement and management of sales activities, in consultation with the Sales Manager and in accordance with the direction of Senior Management.

Key Responsibilities of the Role:

Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, EPCs, End Users and key industry contacts to obtain customer feedback and market intelligence.

Develop and execute sales plans for allocated accounts to achieve or exceed assigned sales and bookings targets.

Plan and manage regular customer sales activities, including customer visits, meetings and engagement with key stakeholders across allocated accounts.

Manage and maintain a healthy sales pipeline, ensuring opportunities are appropriately qualified, progressed and converted in line with sales targets.

Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including solution selling, smart technology, wireless products, projects and service opportunities.

Maintain strong knowledge of Pacific Controls’ products, services, customers and competitive landscape.

Engage with customers to understand their needs, identify opportunities and provide appropriate solutions.

Prepare and deliver customer presentations, product demonstrations and training as required.

Work closely with Product Managers, Principals and internal teams to develop sales strategies, position solutions and pursue opportunities.

Identify and develop relationships with key decision-makers across customer, EPC and End User organisations.

Identify and pursue project opportunities throughout the project lifecycle, working closely with EPCs, End Users, Principals and internal teams.

Support the quoting, project execution and handover process by understanding customer requirements and coordinating with internal teams.

Support commercial negotiations, including pricing, discounts, payment terms and other commercial requirements, in consultation with relevant internal teams and Principals.

Maintain accurate sales activity, forecasts, account plans and customer information within Pacific Controls’ business systems.

Develop account strategies to grow Pacific Controls’ presence across existing customer sites, understand the customer’s installed base and grow Pacific Controls’ share of the installed base.

Monitor market trends, competitor activity and industry developments to identify potential business opportunities.

Actively promote Pacific Controls’ service capabilities and identify opportunities for new service business, while taking ownership of customer enquiries, warranty claims and field service matters.

Actively participate in product, sales and marketing campaigns led by Pacific Controls and/or its Principals.

Ensure all sales and business activities comply with Pacific Controls’ Integrated Management System, policies and procedures.

The successful candidate will have:

Engineering management and/or industrial project management experience.

Strong knowledge of industrial project requirements, with demonstrated technical acumen, prioritisation skills and commercial nous.

5–10 years’ experience in process control, industrial automation or a related industry.

Sales and/or account management experience (preferred).

Goal-oriented, with the ability to understand and work towards targets and business priorities.

Initiative and the ability to identify opportunities, develop solutions and take action.

A desire to continually improve personal performance and contribute to team success.

Effective communication skills in English, including written, verbal and interpersonal communication.

Ability to communicate effectively with external and internal customers, suppliers and key stakeholders.

Ability to work to deadlines, organise and prioritise workload, and work autonomously.
