An exciting opportunity is available for a Boarding Coordinator to join our collaboratives and supportive team in the newly established McCabe House Boarding School. This role plays a vital part in supporting the wellbeing, growth and development of boarders at Loreto.

This is a permanent part-time position working Wednesday 3:00pm to Saturday 12:30pm, with required sleepover shifts in the Boarding House during the school term. Onsite residential accommodation may be available for the preferred candidate, with commencement as soon as practicable.

The Role

  • Provide active, visible supervision of boarders during rostered duties, including sleepover shifts.
  • Coordinate and support the pastoral and academic care of boarders, enabling each student to reach her potential.
  • Develop positive relationships with boarders and colleagues through regular, effective communication.
  • Maintain a safe, secure boarding environment by responding promptly to concerns and escalating matters where appropriate.
  • Supervise boarders during onsite and offsite activities and contribute to the effective operation of the Boarding School.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Has relevant experience in teaching, nursing, childcare, youth work or residential camp environments.
  • Communicates professionally and builds constructive relationships with students, families and colleagues.
  • Works collaboratively and contributes positively to a team environment.
  • Demonstrates maturity, warmth, sound judgement and approachability.
  • Holds, or is willing to obtain, current CPR, First Aid and Duty of Care certifications.
  • Holds, or is willing to obtain, a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) and National Police Check (if residing on site).
