Mechanical Fitter – Afternoon Shift (3pm–11pm) | Old Toongabbie

We’re looking for a trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter to join a high-performing maintenance team on an afternoon shift (3pm–11pm) based in Old Toongabbie.

Salary 98k-118k per annum (afternoon shift $50-$60 per hour)

The Opportunity

You’ll be responsible for maintaining and repairing plant equipment and site facilities to keep production running safely and efficiently. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys fault-finding, improving reliability, and working to high standards in a regulated manufacturing setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out mechanical repairs, servicing and preventative maintenance across plant and facilities
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical faults using drawings and technical manuals
• Install, fit and commission new or relocated equipment
• Work confidently with hydraulic and pneumatic systems (including reading circuitry)
• Support continuous improvement using Lean tools (e.g. 5 Why, A3, 6S)
• Contribute to root cause investigations and reliability improvements
• Source components and liaise with suppliers on technical specifications
• Maintain accurate maintenance records (experience with MAINPAC highly regarded)
• Actively report hazards, near misses and incidents and uphold site safety standards
• Work in line with GMP/quality and environmental, health & safety requirements

What you’ll bring

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter in a manufacturing environment
• Recognised Mechanical Trade Certificate (essential)
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic/pneumatic principles and fault-finding
• Solid computer skills for maintenance systems and reporting
• High attention to detail, strong communication, and a team-first approach
• Ability to work autonomously on shift while collaborating with the wider team
