About the Role
As a Lifeguard, you will be responsible for supervising swimming pool operations and ensuring all lifeguarding activities are conducted to the highest safety and operational standards. You will actively monitor pool users, perform rescue and first aid duties when require, and support the overall operation of the Fitness Centre.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Supervising patrons and ensuring a safe swimming environment at all times
- Monitoring pool activities and maintaining constant observation of swimmers
- Performing lifesaving and rescue activities when required
- Administering first aid and maintaining first aid supplies
- Conducting daily pool water quality testing and basic pool plant duties
- Testing defibrillators and maintaining accurate records
- Managing pool and facility bookings
- Assisting with gym equipment setup for Defence Physical Training Instructors
- Ensuring authorised patron access and sign-in compliance
- Identifying and addressing potential safety hazards
- Maintaining clean and presentable pool, change room, and facility areas
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar Pool Lifeguard role
- Current Working with Children Check (where required)
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills
- Strong commitment to safety and risk management
Required / Highly Regarded
- HLTAID014 - Provide Advanced First Aid
- SISSS00133 - Pool Lifeguard
- Current Australian Driver's Licence
- National Police Check
- Provide a Clear Police check
- Ability to obtain a pre-employment medical clearance (including Drug & Alcohol testing)
- Defence or military experience – highly desirable
- Open to obtaining a defence clearance through our process
