About the Role
William Carey Christian School is seeking a High School HSIE Teacher to join our High School team in a full-time position commencing Term 1, 2027. This role has a Geography focus and involves delivering high-quality, biblically informed education while supporting the academic, pastoral and spiritual development of students.
The successful applicant will be an effective classroom teacher who is committed to Christian education, demonstrates excellence in teaching practice, and works collaboratively with colleagues to support student learning and wellbeing.
Essential Criteria
A person of evangelical Christian convictions and character, actively involved in a Bible-based Christian church and committed to the work of Christian education.
Affirm and uphold the School's Statement of Faith and remain committed to teaching the curriculum from a Christian perspective and analysis, integrating a biblical worldview into all aspects of teaching and learning.
Relevant tertiary qualifications to teach and accredited by NESA.
Meet and maintain the criteria of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers (APST) at proficient level according to legislation.
A current and valid paid Working with Children Check clearance prior to commencement of employment, with ongoing maintenance of this clearance throughout employment.
Demonstrated practice consistent with the Highly Accomplished or Lead Teacher career stages of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers (APST).
Demonstrated effectiveness in meeting diverse student learning needs through evidence-based pedagogical practice, including the purposeful use of ICT.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute positively to a team environment.
Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, colleagues and the wider community regarding educational and welfare matters.
Experience teaching Geography.
