Permanent Full-Time, Kingston-Logan, Join Metro South Oral Health as a Senior Dental Assistant and provide high-quality dental assisting, leadership and support across the Kingston Oral Health Centre and Logan Central.

Your new role:

As a Senior Dental Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting high-quality oral health services while providing leadership and guidance to dental assistants, with responsibilities including:

• Providing high-quality dental assisting services across general and specialist oral health care.
• Supporting dentists, dental specialists, oral health therapists and dental therapists in delivering patient-centred care.
• Leading, supporting and developing dental assistant staff, including orientation, training and performance development.
• Maintaining high standards of infection control, safety and quality within the clinical environment.
• Assisting with the planning, organisation and effective operation of dental assisting services.
• Contributing to quality improvement, service development, research and innovation initiatives.
• Working across facilities within Metro South Health as required.

About you:

We are looking for an experienced dental assistant who brings strong clinical knowledge, leadership capability and a commitment to quality patient care, with:

• Demonstrated high-level dental assisting skills and knowledge across relevant age groups.
• Knowledge of contemporary infection control, workplace health and safety and dental practice requirements.
• Strong leadership, organisational and workload management skills.
• The ability to work autonomously, exercise sound judgement and take initiative.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively with patients and multidisciplinary teams.
• A collaborative approach to supporting colleagues, staff development and continuous improvement.
• A Dental Assisting Certificate and the other mandatory requirements outlined for the position.
